Framura by Motorbyke or Bicycle

For the ones arriving by Motorbike or bicycle we suggest to follow alternative tracks, more panoramic and exciting than a journey on the Motorway.

From Genoa

Follow the SS1 Aurelia bordering the sea and reach Bogliasco, Recco, Rapallo, Chiavari, Sestri Levante. This trail is very panoramic and always overlooking the sea. From Sestri Levante the road changes location and climbs the hills until it reaches the Bracco pass (615 metres above sea level): this place is well known by cyclists for the panoramic slopes among the hills and also by motorcyclists for its hairpin bends.
After crossing the Bracco Pass continue along the Aurelia Road until the crossing with the national road SS332 to Levanto. The road continues downhill until another crossing with the provincial road SP40 to Deiva Marina. Take the junction until you reach the sign indicating Framura, reachable along the provincial road SP41.

Alternative road:
The second alternative is shorter and very particular but is not suitable for bicycles. From Sestri Levante follow the road to Riva Trigoso where you continue through the tunnels of the old railway line until Moneglia, then other tunnels to Deiva Marina. From Deiva Marina continue along the provincial road SP40 direction motorway until you reach the junction with the provincial road 41 in the town of Piazza.
Continuing to the right you enter to the municipality of Framura with the town of Castagnola, the first one you meet. This alternative is very rapid but we remember you that in the tunnels the traffic is regulated by traffic light every 10 minutes, they are narrow and single-line and the access on foot and by bicycle is forbidden due to insufficient lighting.

From La Spezia

Coming from La Spezia you can use the National Road n. 1 Aurelia again, passing by the towns of Riccò del Golfo, Pian di Barca, Borghetto di Vara, Carrodano and Mattarana. After Mattarana you continue direction Bracco Pass.
Until reaching the Bracco Pass take the junction for the national road 332 leading to Levanto. The road continues downhill until the new junction with the provincial road 40 to Deiva Marina: take the junction until you reach the crossroad with the signal indicating Framura, reachable along the provincial road 41.

From Milan you can reach the High Scrivia valley, and then Genoa through the SS35 of Giovi Milano-Genova. Along this road, very busy during the 50ies when the Motorway did not exist, you meet the towns of Busalla, Savignone, Montoggio, Casella, Bargagli, where you continue until the green Fontanabuona valley from where you can reach Chiavari. From Chiavari you can continue following the above mentioned instructions.

From Aulla you can follow the SS62 leading to Sarzana, to La Spezia and then to La Spezia. From La Spezia continue along the national road 1 Aurelia following the above mentioned instructions.

From Firenze

Take the road to Pistoia, Montecatini, Lucca, cross the Garfagnana region, reach Aulla, La Spezia. From La Spezia continue along the national road 1 Aurelia following the above mentioned instructions.
